What age is the Nude Food Movers range intended for?
Nude Food Movers initially built the rubbish free lunchbox and accompanying snack tubes and containers to cater to Nude Food Days, predominantly run in primary schools. But we think the application for this range is far more extensive. The meal box, with spork, microvent and salad dressing pod is great for office workers or laptop lunches. As is all of the containers suitable for adults, new mums, and all people snacking on-the-go.
Is the plastic in the Nude Food Movers range safe?
Your Nude Food Movers plastic container items are made from recyclable food-safe plastics: #5 polypropylene. They also feature food safe rubber overmould parts, on the snack, food and sandwich box. The 500mL Smash bottle is made from #4 Low Density Polyethylene. All items are approved by Standards Australia, US FDA, and are lead, BPA and phthalate-free.
What is the best way to clean products within the Nude Food Movers range?
All of the plastic items; such as the rubbish free lunchbox, meal box and snack containers are best cared for by hand washing in warm soapy water. (Do not use abrasive materials when hand washing).
All plastics are dishwasher safe (top rack), however, for ensuring the prolonged life of your items, we recommend hand wash. The neoprene COOL SKINS may be spot cleaned with a damp cloth. If they require more thorough cleaning, we also recommend hand wash with a mild detergent. Avoid excessive scrubbing over the screen-printed areas, and always dry in the shade.
Are the Nude Food Movers items microwaveable?
The plastics used in the Nude Food Movers range are stable enough to place in a microwave. Our meal box is specifically designed for microwaving, with an inbuilt microvent that allows steam to escape during reheating and prevents food splatter. (This vent can be easily removed for cleaning). We strongly recommend that care is taken when microwaving (do not microwave over ten minutes at a time), and always ensure clips are unlocked before microwaving.
Can I freeze the Nude Food Movers products?
Yes, all containers are freezer-safe.
How can I keep my Nude Food Movers Lunchbox cold?
We recommend making your lunch the night before and putting it in the fridge overnight to keep it cool on its way to school (or work). You can also slip a gel ice or freeze flask inside your cool skin to help keep your contents cool through the day. You can also purchase a cool skin with bottle on the side and freeze this overnight. Whilst it may not necessarily cool the lunchbox, it will provide a cool icy drink for lunchtime.
Are all Nude Food Movers products BPA free?
Yes, all products within the range are free from BPA (Bisphenol A), PVC, Lead and are tested to the highest quality standards.
As an ethical and responsible supplier of consumer products, it is imperative that our products are developed to be safe - for our consumers, employees and the environment. All components and materials used in the range are tested by SGS Australia or SGS Hong Kong to ensure they surpass regulatory standards, are industry recognised and conform to guidelines and industry best practice recommendations.
Recently, concerns have been raised about the safety of BPA, a substance used in the manufacture of many consumer products, including some types of plastic bottles. Research has shown that the amounts of BPA that may migrate into food and beverages from plastic containers are extremely small and well within acceptable limits that are set by various regulatory agencies.
Currently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as the historically stringent regulators of public health issues in the European Union, have issued standards and directives that allow certain levels of BPA to be present in plastics. All Smash products conform to these regulations including the regulations set by Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ).
We will continue to monitor and review any changes made to the regulations and will take the necessary steps to ensure our range exceeds the standards set by the governing bodies and those set by our customers. For more information regarding BPA, please view the below consumer website links:

What is Nude Food Day?
In 2010, Nude Food Movers in conjunction with Nutrition Australia, developed the first annual Nude Food Day to encourage Australians to pack nutritious, environmentally friendly lunches for work and school while raising money for healthy schools programs.
The event was hugely successful, and 2011 we made it international spreading the word to New Zealand. In the years to come, we want the whole world to participate in Nude Food Day and become healthier and more environmentally aware together!
If you haven't already, it's time to join the Nude Food Movement!
